Sun Salute to Summer with Brenda Norris

Join us for this invigorating, early morning practice, full of cardio, breath-work & body-mind synchronicity! Sun Salutations provide a good cardiovascular workout, stretch every part of the body, and when used with breath, coordinate the body with the mind. Even more impressively, this sequence takes the spine through almost every possible range of motion.

This 1.5 hour workshop will focus on finding proper body alignment through the traditional Surya Namaskars, focusing on Sun Salutation A and B. It is ideal for those newer to yoga, looking to develop their practice as well as more seasoned practitioners, who want to learn more about the history, and meaning of the namaskars, as well as refining and connecting the intricate movements within them. We will break down each asana (posture) in the Namaskars, focusing on proper alignment, breath cues and transitions to and from. From there, we will build gradually in speed and energetically, building heat within our body. You will leave energized, feeling the cleansing power of and with a deeper understanding of the Namaskars, and how they feel and move in your energetic body.
